Library Carrels provide a semi private study/work space and are designed for the university and library settings where students and researchers prefer to work undisturbed. The height of the (three sided) partition can be modified to increase or decrease sight lines. Available as single or double sided, the carrels can be ganged to create unique spaces within a large open plan. For example, use a row of single sided carrels to partition a space for different functions. The carrels may be specified with lighting, storage/lockers, power and data, pin-wall surfaces and more.
Library Carrel – Convertible
The perfect compliment to any university study hall or library, the Milder Convertible Carrel is designed to support both group work and individual learning. Using a piston mechanism, the desktop flips upwards to reveal a secondary work-surface with privacy panels; a reading table converts to a semi-private study carrel.
The convertible carrel maximizes use of space while responding to students changing study needs throughout the semester.
The Convertible Carrel is available in a single or double sided configurations. Options include overhead shelf, light, power and data and/or wire cutouts.
